I just received a package from Italy. From Trieste to be quite particular. And opened it, and held in my hands my first printed, published article. It's been underway through reviews et.c. since late 2004 (although the Rendiconti in Trieste received it December 2005, and thus that's the date printed), and now it's done and in print.

So, I bought a small oven from Saturn last saturday while I was in Berlin with my family. The reason for this being that with my family, there was a car in the vicinity, so that the oven would actually get home to me without too much pain.

Once back home, I discovered that the idiot who packaged the demonstration oven I bought (they had no other left of that model...) had forgotten to pack the baking tin and the oven grating that were supposed to come along. No problem, I thought, I'll just call them and have them mail it to me.

Today, once the weekends were over, I got around to calling. Not only won't they send me the stuff without any fuzz - they claim to be complete incapable of sending such large items by mail, and ask me to go to Berlin to pick it upp. This is a trip that would take me over 6 hours on a train, and would cost more than €40. After arguing for quite a while with the complete moron over at Saturn, I gave up and googled the manufacturer.

One phone call and €8 later, replacement parts are underway as I write.
