Floods!

As I start to write an entry about the recent events, I notice that news.google.com turns up exceptionally little about the floodings that have dominated the swedish newsflow lately.

I am currently visiting my grandparents in order to calm down and rest a bit ater the conference summer and before I start working my a** off to get my master's thesis done. The same day me and Susanne came down here, the rain started. Now, Susanne has gone back to Stockholm - and the sun peeks out from beyond the cloud cover.

In the meantime, enough rain has fallen to capture the permanent interest of most swedish media; with several villages more or less flooded, several rivers overflowing, MANY roads closed due to flooding, one of the core railroad tracks partially closed down due to eroded ground beneath it, some cities (Värnamo) filled up with wallbuilding emergency personnell to keep the flood water out et.c. et.c.

All this time, I sit - rather close to all this action - and relax. Do nothing but just relax.

And it seems to work out rather well as well =)
