Conference report Day 1
Other people seem to be doing it - so I shall too -- although my reports most definitely will not measure up to the standards that
silmaril sets. I think this may be because she's participating - not organising. =P
First day is through. Things went well - wreaking havoc with our plans, but working out in the end.
I'm amazed.
Lectures were fun. People were having fun. People were responding to the lectures given in a marvelous way. And we're edging in on the EMS - both Dr. Peter Körtesi and our guest Gerard what's-his-name (I keep forgetting =( ) have ideas about how to do it - and current plans include creating a sub-organisation to the EMS dedicated to young mathematicians - starting a web-based journal for young mathematics - bringing in young mathematicians in the EMS on a biannual basis, et.c.
It's FUN.
And exhausting. Especially given all the bloody administration I have to do for different things. It's 22 - and I still haven't left KTH where I've been all day working with the congress.
