Whirlwind tour just keeps on whirling

So, I spent one day in Baltimore & DC, visiting the Smithsonian Aerospace and the gem collection at the Natural History as well as the open exhibition at the National Archives.

I also saw the White House, the Capitol, the Washington, Lincoln and Jefferson memorials, and a LOT of other sights.

Then back to College Park, meetup with [livejournal.com profile] silmaril, and off to a social dance we go.

[livejournal.com profile] silmaril dances like at least a semi-demi-goddess. And taught me to Onestep (woohoo!).
[livejournal.com profile] vvalkyri introduced herself solidly connected to her LJ presence, and was a most pleasant dance- as well as chat- partner.
[livejournal.com profile] culfinriel looks nothing like her icon, but is an insanely amusing dancepartner, and fully appreciated the unicorn used for our wild tries at the final wiener walzer.

Anyone else I might have bumped into during the dances - here's a good place to check in with me so I know who you are.

Now, I'm back in Amish country, sitting alone with the little poodle Olive in a big house and trying to get through breakfast^Wlunch so that I can concentrate on mathematics in the afternoon.

Also, I was told yesterday, tomorrow I'll give an informal lunch talk, and immediately after that meet the journalist and photographer who are making a news-story out of me for the local newspaper.

Whoa!
